I love theater. In particular, I love the Fulton Theater on Prince Street. Last night, I fell in love with it again. Twelve of us went to watch the comedy Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. No matter how many times I open the theater doors, I get this happy tingling feeling as I look at the [...]
Surprised by Friends

I had a busy day painting and shopping and checking final things off my to-do list. I canceled a friend this evening because I was too tired and thought I needed an evening of rest. I retired early and took a shower. I came downstairs and nearly fell over. My dear friends of honor — [...]

The music took us to faraway places, sad and lonely, full of life and death, choices and decisions, and allowed us to search our hearts and see the deep, gaping wounds the world gives to its comrades… and [...]

Spinning and twirling days, full of people and projects and plans. Today, in the craziness of life, God sent me a brown package from her friend, Martha Troyer. Tucked inside was a cute coffee mug. The message on the mug sums it all up: “Once upon a time there was a very busy girl with [...]
safe friends = growth

I value relationships like never before. I see my relationships with my friends and loved ones as the most important part of life. They are priceless. It’s in the context of safe, healthy relationships that I grow in my Christian life. I can read, pray and study theology until I’m blue in the face–but until [...]
